03 REASON BY THE LAW n PROPHETS 03
Come now, and let us
reason together, saith the Lord:
though your sins be as scarlet, they
shall be as white as snow; though
be red like crimson, they shall
be as wool.
If ye be willing and
obedient, ye shall eat the good
of the land: But if ye refuse and
rebel, ye shall be devoured with
sword: for the mouth of
the Lord hath spoken
Isaiah 1:18-20, (KJV)
Isaiah 43:9-12, (KJV)
Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this,
and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It
Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and
believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. I have declared,
and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord,
that I am God.
All of the above quoted words were spoken to the people of Israel by the Holy Spirit
of Yahweh. And the people did not listen or take heed to there meaning. But those past events were recorded and
have been preserved so that now, in this Age, after the cross, it is possible for the people of Yahweh to learn from
them. Those past events give witnesses to the thoughts and works of Yahweh, but we must have the keys to access the correct
meaning and unlock the hidden wisdom of their testimony. The keys are available, and we will use them as we
re-examine these sayings from the past, and discover their messages for us today.
Let's listen to what the apostle Saul wrote to his students in Rome, because his words are a clue to HOW
we will begin our investigations.
Romans 1:18-21, (KJV)
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness
of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed
it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the
creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead;
so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful;
but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Isaiah 46:8-11, (KJV)
this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors.
Remember the former things of old: for I am Elohim, and there is none else; I am Elohim, and there is
none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel
shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel
from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
To the law and to the testimony:
if they speak not according to this word,
it is because there is no light in them.
The Law (first five books of the bible) and
the Prophets (the remaining 34 books) are what is called the scriptures at the time of the Messiah and the apostles. The writings
of the apostles and their companions did not begin to be written until some 25 years after the death of the Messiah.
The proof an validation of the Messiah as the savior is contained in the scriptures, that is why the
statement is written: the steps of a righteous man are ordered. The Creator Himself declared through the prophet
Isaiah, I have declared the end from the beginning.
One of the greatest errors of the scholars
and theologians, and the scientists also, has been to look to the pagan and heathen cultures and their philosophies for clues
to the meaning of what is presented in the sacred writings contained in the bible.
Yahweh revealed Himself and imparted understanding to a person, there is just no way for anyone to know something for sure
about Yahweh and His purpose. This is what the Creator has expressed in the sacred Hebrew writings.
One must have a reverential respect and regard for what is written and how divine thoughts are expressed.
The peculiar and odd expressions, along with the descriptive poetic quality of the writings clearly points to meanings beyond
the natural or normal human level of understanding - Saul speaks of it as "Hidden Wisdom."
Speculation and human imagination will not unlock the mysteries of Yahweh. But
Yahweh has clearly presented a way (His way) to know and understand what He has had recorded in the writings of the Hebrew
prophets. He chose them, and showed Himself to them, and put His spirit in them to cause them to speak and write His
Saul wrote to Timothy these words:
And without controversy great is the mystery of holiness: [Elohim] was manifest in the flesh, justified in
the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
And Yahweh Himself spoke these words,
To the law and to
if they speak not according to
it is because there is
light in them.
Isaiah 8:20 (KJV)
After the basics or the foundation for learning has been established then the true learning begins. Hear
from the Holy Spirit how this is done:
First we listen to the apostle Saul as he
explains about the way of learning. He is reproving some teachers . . .
when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles
of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that uses milk is unskilful
in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age, even those who by
reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Now let's hear what the Holy Spirit says . . .
28:9-11World English Bible (WEB)
will He (Yahweh) teach knowledge? To whom will he explain the message (the doctrine)? Those who are weaned from the milk,
and drawn from the breasts? For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little,
there a little. But he will speak to this nation with stammering lips and in another language;
And this is why Saul speaks of a "hidden wisdom". . .
2:4-8Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the
Spirit and of power: that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of Yahweh.
Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of
this world, that come to nought: but we speak the wisdom of Yahweh in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which Yahweh ordained
before the world unto our glory: which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have
crucified the Saviour of glory.
But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of Yahweh: for they are
foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judges all
things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
